The outside walls of the villa are 50 cm's thick and are made of rock. This (together with the wooden shutters and airconditioning in the bedrooms) will help to keep the house nice and cool in summer. For the winter the house has double glazing, heating and of course, the fireplace.
The house has been decorated and furnished in such a way as to make you feel at home as soon as you enter. Because of the proximity to the old chapel the house has been built to fit in with its surroundings, meaning that natural materials have been used.
The livingroom with openplan kitchen measures 5 x 6,5 meters.
The room is very cosy with its beautiful stone walls, high slanting ceiling, the fireplace and the authentic Greek stone benches. The two benches have matrasses on them and can sleep two extra people.
There is a small TV with DVD and satellite. And, so you can enjoy some music, there is a stereoset with a wide variety of CD's (also some Greek music). There is an iPod docking station so that you can enjoy your own music and keep your I Pod charged at the same time. We have a small library with both novels as well as books about the area. You will also find the brochure that we have written with useful information about the villa and Stoupa (bakery's opening hours and how to get there, things like that). There are also some
games to play, like tavli (backgammon). Through the open doors you walk straight onto the large veranda and into the garden with it's swimming pool.
The openplan kitchen is installed with a cooker, hood, dishwasher, microwave/oven,a fridge (incl. freezer) and a washing machine.
Also you will find plenty of crockery, glassware, pots and pans, cutlery, a water cooker, coffeemachine, a toaster and a blender.
Both an iron and ironingboard as well as a vacuum cleaner are available at the villa.
If you step outside the kitchen door you will find the fresh herbs and citrus trees that form an important part of Greek cuisine!
The villa has three bedrooms. All bedrooms have A/C and heating.
Two of them are downstairs: one with a double bed and view of the olive trees and mountains. The other downstairs bedroom has two single beds and french doors that open onto the veranda and the pool. The downstairs bathroom has a wash basin, shower and toilet.
Upstairs you will find another double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. It's the only room on the first floor and it has a high wooden slanting ceiling. This very romantic room has a large terrace where you have a fantastic view all around. From here you can see the sea, Stoupa, the sunset, the olive groves and the mountains all at the same time!
We never tire of Stoupa's beautiful sunsets!
