We had a fabulous week at Villa To Kyma; the house is beautiful, well laid out with lots of space for everyone. The outside areas – where we spent all of the time we were actually at the villa – are lovely with enough chairs etc… for people to sit in the sun or the shade. The big outdoor table was great, a super area to eat breakfast fresh from the bakery (a 20 minute stroll away). The restaurants in Stoupa itself were all excellent, and for something a bit more special (but still at good prices) Restaurant Frigano – just 10 mins up the road – was perfect. The pool was excellent – plenty big enough to do some real swimming in or just to play around in. Our son was 6 ½ during our stay and he could stand up in the shallow end without any problems. The games and books provided within the villa were great and it was lovely to sit out in the evening playing games or reading (while having a glass of wine, obviously!). The information provided at the villa was excellent – not just about the villa and it’s amenities but also the surrounding area. We found a huge amount of things to do close to hand – the beaches, local villages, walks etc… were well worth checking out. Further afield there are plenty of things to do although some of the roads are a little hair-raising at times. Olympia, Diros caves, Cape Tenaro, Vathia are just some of the places that we visited during our week and all were well worth the time taken. The Corinth Canal, ancient Corinth, Acrocorinth and ancient Nemea were all stops on the trip to and from Athens where we had a couple of days in addition to our week in Stoupa – a perfect combination. Villa To Kyma was both the perfect place to base ourselves and a beautiful place to be based in.
My two sons, two friends and I stayed at the villa four days right after Easter. The villa is magnificent. The house looked so great on the web site that I was preparing myself for a letdown. I was wrong; the reality exceeded my expectations. The villa is built within an olive tree grove and the beautiful plants around the house were in full bloom as it was mid April, in my opinion the best time to visit the Peloponnesus. I should know since I was born and raised there. The bottle of wine was another elegant touch. It is obvious that the house has been built, decorated and maintained as a family home, not as a rental. Even though the weather was a bit on the cold side my sons and friends took full advantage of the in ground pool. The nights were cool enough that we enjoyed a fire every night of our stay.
Dear Sonia, In short - we loved your house. Three of us came from the US, and met with my mother from England before driving down to Stoupa. It was a great adventure driving to Stoupa, and the last part of the drive makes one feel as though one is entering a mythic kingdom by the sea. We agree with several other tenants - your house is more delightful still than we envisaged from the website. The setting in the olive grove, with its striking view from the upstairs across the grand vista of the Ionian Sea. I loved running down to the Sea each morning, and several times jogged out along the ocean pathway, halfway to Agios Nikolaos. This is a wonderful jogging path by the ocean! We alternated between cooking at home and eating out. Had time to go on some short hikes, and also drove over to Mystras to see the ancient Byzantine capital there. We all left with many wonderful memories.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Villa of the Wave (or at least that's what I believe the name of the house meant in Greek). The house was beautifully wrought of stone and it had a nice balcony up top which i enjoyed writing postcards upon, listening to music and watching the sunset. More importantly, it was in close proximity to the liveliness that was the Mani sea-port of Stoupa, so we could not only drive into town, but also either walk or run, which gave it a nice atmosphere. I also had a great pleasure reading the variety of books in the home's library, particularly the one which spoke of Greek archaeological remains held in museums (that is mainly because as an ANCIENT HISTORY AND CLASSICS major at Rutgers University in America, I am very fascinated with the classical world of Homer and Herotodus). Finally, I enjoyed the house's garden, not only to observe the brilliant plants blooming there, but also to sit out and suntan. I can definitely say that I can recommend staying in this villa. It had a great proximity to town and the sea, a great look and a great atmosphere
We enjoyed our stay at Villa To Kyma very much. It's a beautiful and well-equipped house nicely situated in an olive grove; I loved reading in the hammock between two olive trees! The upstairs porch has a wonderful view of the sea and the sunsets were quite amazing! We also had fun cooking all together and had some nice family meals at the outside table. The town of Stoupa is within walking distance, and we also had a nice walk there along the coast to a nearby village. All in all a wonderful break...many thanks and we hope to return to Stoupa sometime soon!
I am happy to recommend Villa to Kyma. My stay at Villa to Kyma was all I envisaged and more! It was spacious and elegant in a beautiful, peaceful setting among olive groves, with incredible views, just a walk away from the picturesque fishing port of Stoupa. An unforgettable experience!
We had the most fantastic holiday. Thank you. We absolutely loved To Kyma. The house is beautiful (loved the mosaics, especially the lizard in the bedroom we slept in) and my mother even has gate envy. The layout of the house inside worked brilliantly and the terraces outside with the shade and places to play bat and ball were fantastic. I'm not sure who loved the pool most but it was divine, and bigger than I'd expected. I can't believe how well equipped the house was too. What a bonus to have the dishwasher, washing machine and even a blender (so sad that when you travel with children how your priorities change!). We also loved being back in Stoupa. Though there are some more houses, it is as charming as it ever was. Misread the instructions to get to the bakery on the first day and scrambled up the wall and through the wilderness at the back of the house. We quite enjoyed our scrambly wramby adventure (Archie's words). Thanks again for one of the most relaxing holidays.
We found the Villa with no difficulty. We drove down from Athens on the Sunday morning. We found your villa delightful, had no problems and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. In fact we enjoyed it so much, we spent more time there than getting out and about, which is quite unusual for us as we love to explore. We would certainly like to come again in the future. Thank you for allowing us to stay.
Thank you for such a lovely holiday experience! Our 2 week stay at To Kyma was a belated honeymoon and was completely perfect. I've been to Stoupa at least 6 times in the last 10 years and have always rented apartments in the town but thought we'd treat ourselves this time to a private villa with pool. I have always loved Stoupa beach but the the villa was so relaxing and homely that we spent most days there and only ventured out at the evenings or to go to the supermarket. The house is clean, well equipped and there are so many personal touches that make you feel at home; the mosaics, pictures, candles and tea light holders everywhere - such a lovely touch. We'll definitely be coming back and I have already told my other friends and family what a great place it is. I managed to read 6 books and have left the 5 I brought myself at the villa to add to the wonderful collection that you already have. Looking forward to another stay soon.
I can't imagine anywhere nicer to stay around Stoupa. Lovely pool, views, (sea, olive groves, mountains, sunsets), grounds and a very comfortable, well equipped and stylish house. It has the feel of a much loved family home. The owners are friendly and helpful. Stoupa is a charming laid back beach town and the villa is within walking distance of all is has to offer. And on those evenings when you don't fancy walking back after dinner on the waterfront, there's a good taverna nearby and even one that delivers to your door. Thanks for a very happy week.
